                    The MIS Minor

The Accounting and MIS department offer one minor--The Management Information Systems (MIS) minor. It provides students with problem solving skills by enabling the student to adapt and integrate computers and appropriate software when necessary. Students will study programming, the use of computing for decision making and gaining competitive advantage, as well as information system design based on management needs. The capstone courses are project-focused and provide the student with an opportunity to work in teams to develop a solution to a client's business problem.

Frequently asked questions about the MIS Minor are addressed below:

WHAT IS THE MIS MINOR?

The MIS Minor also provides students in the College with skills needed to leverage available technology to solve business problems and is designed to complement the knowledge Business students receive in their major field of study. The MIS minor is not limited to students within the Alfred Lerner College.  Students in majors outside of the College may be able to participate as well. The eight (8) required courses integrate fundamental business knowledge with technical skills to expand career options beyond traditional opportunities presented by the student's major course of study.
