W. L. Gore Lecture Series in Management Science
The W.L. Gore Lecture Series in Management Science, which is sponsored by an endowment from the Gore family, will feature experts in the application of probability, statistics, and experimental design to decision making, including applications in academia, business, government, engineering, and medicine. The lecture series recognizes the key role that the fields of probability, statistics, and experimental design have played in the success of W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. The inaugural lecture in this series was given in March 2011.

Dr. Hunter - Biographical Highlights |

| Dr. J Stuart Hunter (Stu) is a statistician and Professor Emeritus, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Princeton University. He is the founding editor of the journal Technometrics (1958) and was President of the American Statistical Association (1992). He became an Honorary Member of the American Society for Quality in 1999 and elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2005. He received the Shewhart Medal (1970) S. S. Wilks Medal: U.S. Army (1987), the Deming Medal (1986), and the Founders Award of the American Statistical Association (1994). He also received a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa, from his alma mater North Carolina State University in 2006 and from the Pennsylvania State University in 2008. He has published extensively and is the co-author with I. Guttman and S. S. Wilks of the text Introductory Engineering Statistics and with G. E. P. Box and W. G. Hunter of the book Statistics for Experimenters. He remains active as a consultant and lecturer. |
