Lerner College Accreditation
The business and accounting programs in the Lerner College of Business and Economics are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). The documents in this section describe the process and assessment outcomes for the College. The College's accreditation was reaffirmed during the 2000-2001 academic year. The self-study term for AACSB reaffirmation review was Fall 2009, with an AACSB team visitation scheduled for Winter 2010-2011.
The information presented throughout this accreditation site fulfills purposes beyond AACSB professional accreditation. The University of Delaware and the Lerner College are committed to implementing student learning outcomes assessment programs. The student outcomes assessment program has one central goal: to create a University of Delaware culture of continuous academic improvement that is focused upon student learning. Assessment programs also support the efforts of the institution for reaccreditation by Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Through the campus-wide student learning outcomes assessment program, all academic departments are expected to define clear, concise and measurable student learning outcomes, identify opportunities within and outside of the classroom and the curriculum for students to achieve those outcomes, apply measures to assess whether the desired outcomes are being achieved, and use the results of the assessment for decision-making that improves instruction, strengthens the curriculum, and forms the basis for policy development and resource allocations.
