Academic Program Learning Objectives
The departments of Accounting and MIS, Business Administration, Economics, and Finance, along with the MBA programs office, developed a set of program learning objectives that the faculty deemed as important in measuring learning competencies for each specific major. In conjunction with the College Assurance of Learning Taskforce, a series of assessment methods were implemented to measure to what extent the students are learning the intended objectives. The purpose of the assessment process is to measure how well students are demonstrating competency of the objectives that the faculty have set forth. An assurance of learning analysis is then reviewed by the chair to determine how the assessment results will be used to improve the learning process and “close the loop.”
Through selected exam questions, student presentations, course evaluations, written reports and additional methods for measuring competencies, each department conducted an outcomes assessment analysis.
