Bill Allen, Chief Executive Officer of Outback Steakhouse, Inc., has been instrumental in building restaurant companies for over twenty years. His reputation for innovation and strategic planning, as well as his first hand experience in operations, finance and real estate, including LBOs, mergers and acquisitions, has been instrumental in establishing him as a respected visionary and leader within the restaurant industry.
Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, OSI is a company of eight restaurant brands including Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Roy's, Bonefish Grill, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Lee Roy Selmon's and Blue Coral Seafood and Spirits. The company completed its initial public offering in June 1991.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of Outback Steakhouse Inc., Bill, along with his friend Paul Fleming, was involved in the creation and expansion of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar; as well as overseeing Roy 's Restaurants. Teamed up again, Fleming and Allen are currently evolving their fresh concept, Blue Coral Seafood and Spirits.
Allen has also served as President and CEO for La Madeleine French Bakery and Café and Koo Koo Roo. He spent 10 years with The Marriott Corporation, where he rose through the ranks from General Manager to senior vice-president for 163 restaurants, with annual revenues in excess of $280 million. Allen was also vice-president and partner for Restaurant Enterprises Group, a multi-concept group.
