Henry Topel

Mr. Henry Topel is a Founding Director of the Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitor’s Bureau 30 years ago and has served as its Chairman. In October 2008, the Board unanimously elected Henry Topel as a permanent Honorary Director. In 1995 he was the recipient of the Governor’s Tourism Award and is in the Delaware Tourism Hall of Fame.

Henry Topel is a former Vice-Chairman of Beneficial National Bank where he served on its Board for over 15 years. He received a Presidential Appointment during the Carter Administration to the National Advisory Community Investment Board. He served as Delaware’s Real Estate Commissioner for 13 years and is also former Democratic Party State Chairman of the State of Delaware. He holds an Honorable Discharge from the U. S Navy.

Mr. Topel has written a book known as “BRANDYWORLD” on establishing a theme park in the Greater Wilmington area, harnessing and packaging tourism under one banner, coupled with a transportation loop stopping at all hotels in the city and county on a given time schedule to all museums and attractions in this market, and further establishing an art and antique district in center city Wilmington.
