To fulfill my 150 credits, I chose to do the 4+1 MS Accounting program. This is a great option because not only will I have my Masters after only 1 extra year, but I also have the time to complete the CPA Exam before I even begin work! Please reach out to me if you would be interested and I'd be more than happy to give you some advice! During winter session of my junior year, I even got to study abroad in Greece!

During the fall semester of my Junior Year, I studied abroad in Rome. I took international business classes over there to fulfill my minor and will still be graduating on time with an accounting major. It can be done!
PwC sent me down to Belize for one week to volunteer for Project Belize.  Project Belize is a summer camp to teach children in Belize about financial literacy.  It was a life changing experience! At the end of the summer, I accepted my job offer!

I entered the Univeristy of Delaware as business undeclared and switched to Accounting my sophmore year. When I found out you needed 150 credits to sit for your CPA I decided to pick up a double major in Finance. I will graduate in four years with a dual degree and 150 credits, thanks to winter and summer sessions and a lot of hard work. I am also in a sorority, participate in UDance and am involved in accounting organizations here on campus. It is very doable. I absolutely loved my audit internship in Philadelphia this summer where I focused on asset managment clients. I recently accepted my full-time offer with PwC!

Entering UD with 3 majors and 2 minors, I had no idea how I was going to balance my time between school, activities, and fun. Now adding a Master's Degree has put even more on my plate. But I have been able to balance my life really well and am willing to help anyone if needed. Also, next Fall I will be starting full time at PwC in Philadelphia! Let me know if you have any questions.

So you may notice that I do not, currently, have any "job experience" related to accounting, unlike everyone else. Having transferred into the major during my sophomore year (from engineering), I had a little bit of a different transition. If this sounds like you - don't fear! I am still completing 150 credits in 4 years (through summer classes, study abroad in Thailand and Australia, and other extra classes like fitness), so I will be CPA eligible at the end of my senior year. Junior year is still a great time to begin the internship search, so breathe! With the help of advisers and other students experiences, everyone can make it work!

I'm planning on gaining the 150 credits needed for the CPA exam in 4 years through making use of AP credits earned and taking several winter and summer classes. I am very involved on campus and also work two different part time jobs. Last spring I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in an alternative spring break program with the blue hen leadership program on campus. We went down to New Bern, North Carolina and worked on a Habitat for Humanity House for a week. It was a very rewarding and enlightening experience. If you have any questions about getting involved on campus, Accounting & MIS classes, or balancing a heavy workload I'd be happy to help!

In order to fulfill my 150 credits, I decided to do the new "Accelerated" Accounting program, which is basically an accelerated version of the 4+1. In this program, I we be able to overlap both undergrad and graduate classes, and complete the 150 credits necessary to sit for the CPA Exam. I would be more than happy to help with the Accounting classes, the Accelerated program, or getting involved on campus!!

In order to gain my 150 credits, I plan on doing UD's 4+1MS Accounting Program.  I currently work as a Student Assistant in the Lerner Career Services office and in the B&E Undergraduate Advising office. I have a lot of training in reviewing resumes and giving other career tips. Outside of business related activities, I am the involved with the RSO Supporting American Forces Everywhere (SAFE). I love volunteering at the VA Hospital in Wilmington as well as mailing letters and care packages to our US service members.

If you have any questions regarding Accounting, career services, or ways to get involved on campus, I am here to help!

The Lerner College is home to a state-of-the-art financial trading facility, the $1.4 million student-led Blue Hen Investment Fund, a student-managed restaurant and hotel, a high-technology development center of a global bank and a start-up experience for students with new business ideas.

Lerner College faculty - like Anu Sivaraman, who is among Social Media Marketing Magazine’s “Top 100 Marketing Professors on Twitter” and MBAprograms.org’s “Top 50 Marketing Professors on Twitter” - are thought leaders who command attention from influential business audiences, economists and policy makers.

All Lerner College departments offer experience-driven learning and emphasize evidence-based analytics methods to enrich the student experience. Here, finance students visit New York City’s financial districts for a first-hand look at markets trading and to meet with UD alumni.

Charles W. Horn, AS75, and wife Patricia, recently made a $3 million commitment to enhance and expand entrepreneurial studies.
