Advisory Board
The Department Advisory and Student Advisory Boards
The Department established a Departmental Advisory Board (DAB) in Fall 2010 and had its first meeting on October 22, 2010. The role of the DAB is to build stronger relationships among firms, faculty, and students in order to accomplish the Department’s mission. The DAB provides advice regarding activities such as curriculum design, collaboration with practice, and fundraising.

The Department also established a Student Advisory Board (SAB) in Fall 2010 with a goal of providing a feedback mechanism for students to express their concerns or suggestions regarding the Department as well as for them to have input into the Department’s decision making processes. The SAB is comprised of accounting and MIS majors, including officers from all three departmental student organizations: Accounting Student Association (ASA), Association for Information Systems (AIS), and National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).
