Concentrations in the Economics Major

The Department of Economics offers two concentrations that certify that a student has completed additional work beyond the minimum required for the economics major. These concentrations appear on your official UD transcript. Students may take a concentration with either a B.S. or a B.A. major. We encourage you to consider these concentrations:

  • Applied Economics : This concentration includes coursework in econometrics and applied coursework. It enables a student to develop the ability to apply econometrics and economics in the real world, particularly in business applications. More information on degree requirements is available here
  • Economic Theory and Econometrics: This concentration includes coursework in econometrics and in more advanced economic theory. It is designed to provide a strong preparation for graduate studies in economics. More information on degree requirements is available here.
