Transferring in Economic Courses from Other Colleges

What to think about before taking a course at another school

We accept transfer credit from all AACSB-accredited four year universities and a select group of non-AACSB accredited universities.  Most state universities, including local branches, are included in the AACSB  list.  A list of currently accredited institutions can be found at http://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/AccreditedMembers.asp.  We also accept transfer credit from Delaware State University and Delaware Technical College.  For a list of other institutions from which we accept transfer credit, check with Tammy Simpson in 406 Purnell.  Important: Due to our inability to monitor course content and quality, we do not accept transfer credit for economics courses taken at community colleges (except for Delaware Technical College).  There are no exceptions.

ECON100, ECON151, and ECON152 are available as on-line UD distance-learning classes. If you cannot find an approved course in your area, you may wish to consider this option.

To assure that the economics course you want to transfer will be accepted by UD, you must first go the Student Services Building and see a Transfer Credit Advisor. You will need approval from the economics department and the Assistant Dean of the college in which you are enrolled.  Please bring a description of the course so that we can determine for which course you will receive credit.
