Gary Weaver recently completed a six-year term as Editor in Chief of Business Ethics Quarterly (BEQ) (www.businessethicsquarterly.org). BEQ is sponsored by the Society for Business Ethics and is widely recognized as the top scholarly specialty journal in that subfield, publishing both theoretical and empirical work. During his time as editor, BEQ’s impact ranking in Journal Citation Reports rose from “middle of the pack” to #2 out of 38 journals in the ethics category. Weaver remains affiliated with BEQ as senior associate editor.
Weaver was also recognized with his co-authors by the Journal of Management (JoM) for its 2011 scholarly impact award (for Linda Treviño, Gary Weaver, and Scott Reynolds, “Behavioral ethics in organizations: A review,” Journal of Management 2006). Five awards are given by JoM each year, based on number of citations to the article, quality of the articles and journals citing the award article, and “perceived quality and potential for continued impact,” all as judged by the associate editors of JoM.
