Academic
advising is available to all students.
Advisors can help students make decisions
with course selection, maintaining progress
toward degree, and career goals.
Students are encouraged to discuss their
academic progress with their advisor.
All freshmen and sophomores are advised by
the Alfred Lerner College of Business and
Economics
Office
of Undergraduate Advising and Academic
Services
which is located in 102 Purnell Hall,

Lerner College
junior and senior students and honor
students are assigned to a program advisor
in the department of their major.
Students should check with their program
advisor to be certain that the requirements
of the BS programs are being correctly met.
Senior checkouts are approved by your
undergraduate program advisor the semester
before graduation.

Checkout forms can be obtained from our

undergraduate program advisor for Finance
students is Mr. Peter Danby while Mr.
Detwiler is on sabbatical this fall.
Mr.
Danby is located in Mr. Detwiler's office in 321 Purnell Hall.
His office hours for the Fall 2008
semester are:
Mondays 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Tuesdays 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
and 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Wednesdays 3:30-5:00 p.m.
No office hours on Thursdays and Fridays

during his office hours. If your schedule
prohibits you from stopping by during those times,

Would you like to change
your major to Finance?
There is no deadline to apply for the
Finance major as there are "rolling" year-round
admissions. To apply, go to UDSIS--Forms--Change
Program/Plan.
What are your chances of being admitted?
You must have
completed at least 28 course credit
hours at the University of Delaware
to be eligible to apply for admission into most of
the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics
majors, including Finance. Included in
these 28 course credit hours, you must have
successfully completed Math 221 (Calculus I)
or Math 241 (Analytic Geometry and
Calculus A) and Econ 151 (Microeconomics)
and Econ 152 (Macroeconomics).
In the Finance degree program, 82%
(or 134 of the 163 applicants) were admitted.
The grade point average was 3.09.
