Contemporary Citizenship (includes financial literacy, street law, political
systems, and contemporary social issues. Department Social Studies
Schooling High School - Indian
River Undergraduate - University of Delaware (History,
Education) Graduate - Salisbury State University (Guidance
Counseling) Experience 11 years total -
teaching 9th grade (World Cultures/Global Studies) and 12th grade (Contemporary
Citizenship and Sociology) at Hodgson Vocational - Technical High
School. Family Husband (Dennis) and 2 daughters (Sydney -
age 4 and Madison - age 2)
Hobbies
Spending time
with family (amusement parks, water parks, etc.), scrapbooking, reading, and
cross-stitching.
Why I Teach Financial Literacy I
want my students to be able to walk out the door after graduation and be
informed so that they can make sound financial decisions and be "on the right
path" so that they don't make big mistakes and so they can plan correctly for
their future. For them, knowledge is power!
