I became interested in writing a curriculum to address personal finances after seeing the enthusiasm students had while covering my stock market unit (I tied it into the Stock Market Crash and Great Depression for U.S. History) I would complete a mini-lesson on investing and options and stocks today. The students always loved the topics and many would say "I wish we would spend more time on this stuff." I feel strongly that there is a need to educate students on basic financial issues and show them how to apply the ideas of this course to their lives now and after high school. This will be information that they will truly take with them beyond high school.
