Nominations for Lerner College B&E Alumni Awards of Excellence


The Lerner College Alumni Awards of Excellence are presented to alumni who have made outstanding contributions in one or more of the following ways: 

  • Exceptional accomplishment in a chosen field in business, government, non-profit or professional career
  • Exceptional service in local, state or national affairs
  • Exceptional service and contribution in support of the advancement and mission of the Lerner College

Please list the nominee's accomplishments for each category on this form together with any attachments, such as a resume or brief bio and submit the nomination through this site. You may also download the form here and email the form and attachments to Mr. Roger Coffin,, Dean's Office, Lerner College of Business & Economics, Newark, DE 19716. 

Applications must be received in the Lerner College Dean’s Office, University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware 19716 no later than April 30, 2014.

Award recommendations will be made by the Alumni Awards of Excellence Committee comprised of three members of the Lerner College Alumni Board, the Associate Director of Corporate Outreach and the Lerner College Director of Development. Recommendations will be made by the Committee to the Lerner College Dean and Deputy Dean for final selection. The recipient will be informed officially by the Lerner College Dean’s Office and will be contingent upon the recipient’s availability to receive the award in person during the University’s Alumni Weekend.

The Lerner College is home to a state-of-the-art financial trading facility, the $1.4 million student-led Blue Hen Investment Fund, a student-managed restaurant and hotel, a high-technology development center of a global bank and a start-up experience for students with new business ideas.

Lerner College faculty - like Anu Sivaraman, who is among Social Media Marketing Magazine’s “Top 100 Marketing Professors on Twitter” and’s “Top 50 Marketing Professors on Twitter” - are thought leaders who command attention from influential business audiences, economists and policy makers.

All Lerner College departments offer experience-driven learning and emphasize evidence-based analytics methods to enrich the student experience. Here, finance students visit New York City’s financial districts for a first-hand look at markets trading and to meet with UD alumni.

Charles W. Horn, AS75, and wife Patricia, recently made a $3 million commitment to enhance and expand entrepreneurial studies.
