ACCOUNTING 363 – “Earned Income Tax Course”

This course offers students an opportunity to truly help those in financial need through the earned income tax credit (EITC) program run by the federal government.  It is coordinated through the Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corporation.  The course consists of 12 hours of training by IRS representatives and 34 hours of actual field work.  The field work involves completing tax returns for individuals/families who meet certain income guidelines and who need assistance in the preparation of their income tax returns.  The work sites are located throughout New Castle County with several sites located in Newark.  This class is for juniors and seniors who have had Intermediate Accounting I and requires permission of the instructor.
