Graduate Assistantships, Scholarships and Tuition Rates
Delaware Resident Scholarships
Full Time and Part Time – Delaware Residents
The Lerner College is pleased to offer an automatic 50% scholarship to all admitted full-time and part-time students who are Delaware residents as defined by the University of Delaware Board of Trustees (http://www.udel.edu/registrar/residncy.html). The scholarship will be in effect for maximum of 5 years. The percentage of scholarship will remain the same for the duration of this period. The University’s tuition rate may change over time.
Tuition Scholarships
Part Time – Non-Residents
Qualified non-resident applicants are automatically considered for partial tuition scholarships at the time of admission. These scholarships reduce tuition by as much as 25%. The scholarship award depends on the competitiveness of the applicant compared with the applicant pool. Selection criteria include academic, professional and personal achievements, GPA, and GMAT/GRE scores. The scholarship is in effect for a maximum of 5 years. The percentage of scholarship will remain the same for the duration of this period. The University’s tuition rate may change over time.
Graduate Assistantships and Scholarships
Full Time – Delaware Residents and Non-Residents
Graduate Assistantships and Scholarships are available for exceptionally qualified full time applicants. A Graduate Assistantship is an opportunity to assist faculty in research, teaching and/or outreach activities while earning your degree and to receive compensation (a stipend) and a tuition scholarship in return. 100% assistantships require students to work 20 hours per week, while 50% assistantships require students to work 10 hours per week. For the Fall and Spring semesters during which the Lerner College of Business & Economics provides an assistantship to a student, the Lerner College will also provide a matching tuition scholarship (100% or 50%). Exceptional applicants may also be offered a scholarship, which would not be associated with a Graduate Assistantship position. These scholarships may be up to 100% of tuition and would be awarded for up to two years. Graduate Assistants receive a stipend of $8000 per term (Fall: September 1 – January 15; Spring: January 16 – May 31) for a 100% Assistantship, $4000 per term for a 50% Assistantship. The exact working days are determined by the offering department and are specified in the offer.
A full-time student who is a Delaware resident and is offered a Graduate Assistantship and/or a Scholarship will receive that award in addition to the automatic 50% Delaware resident scholarship. For example, if a Delaware resident was offered a 10 hour 50% Graduate Assistantship, the tuition rate would be adjusted from the usual rate of $12,970/semester to $6,485/semester for being a Delaware resident and then to $3,243/semester for being awarded a 10 hour Graduate Assistantship to reflect the additional 50% scholarship that comes with that position.
No additional application is required for Graduate Assistantships or Scholarships. All full time students are considered automatically at the time of admission.
The Corporate Associates Program

The Corporate Associates Program is an elite internship program for full time students that gives top Lerner College graduate students an opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience with a corporate sponsor. These positions pay a stipend and include a 100% tuition scholarship.
