MIS Admissions
Admission to the graduate program is competitive. Those who meet stated minimum requirements are not guaranteed admission, nor are those who fail to meet all of the requirements necessarily precluded from admission if they offer other appropriate strengths.
The goal of the M.S. in IS&TM is to attract the highest caliber of student possible. Enrollment will be limited to 10 – 15 part-time students and 5 - 10 full-time students, increasing to a total of 30 – 35 students as resources permit.
Requirements
To apply to the program, applicants to the MS in IS&TM must:
- Complete the University of Delaware's graduate application.
Online Graduate Application - Submit scores from either the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).

Undergraduate GPA
An undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 is expected.
Work Experience
Work experience provides a context for graduate study. Therefore, it is strongly recommended, but not required, that incoming students have one or more years of meaningful work experience. As indicated above, for those with meaningful work experience, this experience should be weighed in the admission decision.
Prior Degree Requirements
Applicants for the M.S. in IS&TM must possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. While the program is designed for those with a background in either business or a technical area, persons with a degree in any field (but who possess an aptitude and desire to pursue graduate study in IT) are encouraged to apply.
Application Deadlines
Because of course sequencing, normal admission will be for the Fall semester (well-qualified applicants can be considered for Spring semester admission). Students will begin the Foundation courses as soon as they can (several of the Foundation courses are offered on-line), and start with the Fundamental Core courses in their first semester.
Recommended Fall semester deadline: May 1
Recommended Spring semester deadline: November 1
Admission Decision
Admission will be decided by the director of the program, in consultation with an admissions committee (composed of faculty who participate in the program) when appropriate. Address any questions to Dr. Clinton White, Area Head of MIS, Department of Accounting and MIS (e-mail: skipw
udel [dot] edu) (phone 302-831-6902).
Financial Aid
Since the program is primarily part-time, it is anticipated that students will be responsible for their own financial support, either through employer reimbursement programs or from their own resources.
Tuition and Fees
The University evaluates the tuition fees each year. Information regarding current tuition, fees, and financial aid opportunities may be found in the current year's Undergraduate and Graduate Catalog, or by visiting the University of Delaware's Graduate Programs' website at http://www.udel.edu/bill_coll/fees.html.
