Women’s Leadership Initiative

Our world needs diverse leadership to tackle its most pressing challenges—yet barriers to advancement for all persist. Since its founding, the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) at the University of Delaware has worked to change that by advancing gender equity through advocacy, education and research.
Beginning July 1, 2025, WLI will pause programming to reflect on our impact and make space for new ideas. Guided by Lerner College’s strategic plan, this hiatus will help shape the future of WLI and its continued role in building inclusive leadership.
Our Impact: A Legacy of Leadership
Over the past eight years, WLI has empowered students, faculty and professionals through impactful programs and inclusive learning experiences:
- 300+ students participated in our ASCEND program
- 800+ executives engaged in our RiseUP executive education
- 5,000+ attendees joined our leadership webinar series
- 30+ faculty events supported inclusive academic leadership
